| S.C.D.C. relocated from the old county jail location on Water Street in Georgetown to its current location in 1991. The current detention center is designed to house a total of 86 inmates. Both female and male inmates are housed in it. It is a full-service jail, with a kitchen, laundry, and medical services. |

Visitations
Visitations can be made by phone or in person and may not be made the day of the visit. Visitation days are Wednesdays and Saturdays.

Southbound I-75
- Exit at 129 exit and turn right off exit.
- Go to second traffic light and turn left onto US 25.
- Travel about 4 miles. After entering downtown Georgetown, S.C.D.C. will be on left just past first traffic light.
Northbound I-75
- Exit at 125 exit and turn left off exit.
- Turn right at third traffic light onto Broadway/US 25.
- S.C.D.C. is on your right.
Interstate 64
- Exit at 69 exit and turn eastbound on US 62 towards Georgetown
- Turn right at stop sign onto US 460.
- Turn left at first traffic light and S.C.D.C. will be on your right.
