Deputy positions at S.C.D.C. include part-time and full-time positions. Qualified applicants will only be offered a part-time position initially. Full-time positions are offered only to qualified part-time deputies. The shifts are dayshift and nightshift and can be either 8 or 12 hours. Full-time deputies are sworn peace officers in the Commonwealth of Kentucky and participate in the state Hazardous Duty Retirement system, as well as receive county benefits.
